We deliver fully welded steel stringers and made-to-order butcher block hardwood treads directly to your job site. Our steel-framed staircases can be single or double-stringers in several different styles. We can even deliver your stringer pre-wired and ready for your electrician to add tread lighting.
Art Walker will measure, build, and install your custom staircase in the Asheville, North Carolina area. For our valued clients outside our installation area, we can work with your contractor's field measurements to create a staircase that meets your expectations for quality, appearance, and fit and deliver it right to your job site.
We suggest that this project not be undertaken by DIYers or homeowners alone. Our staircases should be installed by experienced contractors with the proper tools, safety protocols, and crew.
We will consult with your contractor regarding the pre-installation preparations and the specific readiness steps required for installation.
When you order our fully welded stringer or stringers, they are delivered to your job site on a flatbed trailer. They will be primed and ready for installation, accompanied by comprehensive instructions.
Your custom hardwood treads will be manufactured in our shop using high-quality, locally sourced kiln-dried hardwoods. We will create your treads to your unique width, depth, and thickness specifications. After experimenting with various methods over the years, we have decided to ship your treads sanded but unstained. Treads may be scuffed during installation and throughout the rest of the home's construction. By shipping them unfinished, the flooring contractor can perform a final, light sanding and apply a finish that matches your floors perfectly.
